Mr. and Mrs. Leon Weintraub of Potomac announce the engagement of their daughter, Ruth Ellen, to Evan Howard Katz, son of Lewis Katz of Long Island, N.Y., and the late Libby Katz.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Winston Churchill High School. She earned a bachelor's degree with honors and a master of business administration from Clark University. She is a corporate event planner with Morgan Stanley in Manhattan.
The prospective groom graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and earned a law degree from Harvard University. He works in marketing and investor relations for a hedge fund in New York.
A May wedding is planned.
